Business Development Manager - Utilities

SD Partners’ Utilities Division is looking for a successful and determined Sales Manager to support an ambitious growth strategy.

SD Partners was formed over 10 years ago and is now a UK subsidiary of the Alten Group, one of the leading companies in Europe offering consulting and engineering services using advanced technologies. Alten was formed in 1988 and is growing rapidly through expansion and the acquisition of specialised companies. In the last 3 years Alten has doubled the number of employees to over 9000 consultants.

Alten is focused in four sectors: industrial, telecoms, utilities, and IT. We support our clients’ projects by supplying specialist teams of highly-skilled and experienced consultants.

In the UK, SD Partners’ Utilities Division is able to draw on the resources and expertise of both UK-based consultants and Alten consultants throughout Europe. In this way we offer the flexibility to support UK and European projects for our utility customers’ IT and non-IT projects.

Responsibilities

Working with the existing Account Management team to:
  • Develop and maintain contact lists
  • Prospect for new clients at a strategic and local level, including presentations to clients’ representatives at all levels
  • Obtain client requirements and secure resources for client requirements, e.g. interviewing applicants and consultants to assess suitability against clients’ requirements
  • Negotiate new contracts with clients

Skills/experience/qualities required

  • 5 years+ successful business-to-business sales experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of a utilities sector, ideally of electricity participants

Location

London-based, with travel throughout the UK

Salary Range

Basic salary in the range of £40,000 to £50,000 with OTE £80-100,000, plus benefits

Design Project Manager

We are recruiting permanent, junior and senior consultants, specialised in mechanical design, to join our expanding team. You will be in charge of the product or process development (CAD) from the 3D model to the 2D plan of details, adhering to technical specifications.

Sectors

Manufacturers and suppliers in the following sectors:
  • Automotive
  • Aeronautical
  • Railways

Skills/experience required

  • 2-5 years design experience
  • Advanced use of CATIA V4 and CATIA V5 / PRO Engineer or IDEAS is desirable
  • Experience of mechanical systems design (volume and surfacing parts)
  • Background in plastics parts
  • Able to produce 3D drawings and 2D plans of details
  • Experience in a team project, ideally involving a new product launch

Qualifications

Ideally holds a design-related degree

Manufacturing Project Consultant

We are recruiting permanent, junior and senior consultants, specialised in manufacturing with practical experience, to join our expanding team. You will be based at our client’s site and be in charge of the management of a productivity project (SMED, KAISEN, 5S) and industrialisation project from the technical description until the launch of a new product.

Sectors

Manufacturers and suppliers in the following sectors:
  • Automotive
  • Aeronautical
  • Railways

Skills/experience required

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a manufacturing project manager
  • Good knowledge of writing technical specifications
  • Able to manage a technical supplier from the technical description until the process installation
  • Able to qualify a process, and act as technical support
  • Good background in mechanical components and plastic parts
  • Experience in method department ideally in an automotive plant
  • Knowledge of productivity tools: KAIZEN, SMED, 5S
  • Experience in a team project, ideally involving a new product launch

We are recruiting permanent, junior and senior consultants, specialised in logistics with practical experience, to join our expanding team. You will be based at our client’s site and will manage an optimisation project (flows, stocks), or industrialisation project from the technical description until the launch of a new product.

Skills/experience required

  • Minimum of 2 years’ logistics experience
  • Experience of flow and stock optimisation
  • Experience in procurement (mechanical and/or plastic parts)
  • Experience in a Just In Time plant (desirable)
  • A good background in mechanics
